FCC INTERCLUB COMPETITION - RESULTSOur club did VERY well in the FCC Intercvlub competition. You can check the results for our club here and view the results for all clubs that entered the competition here.
FCC INTERCLUB COMPETITIONOur club entries for the FCC Interclub have been submitted. Judging of the Interclub prints will take place on 15th November and the projected images will be sent to three independent judges. All images will be on display at Saint George Leagues Club on 29th November.
DIGITAL PORTFOLIO ROUND 2The Round 2 results are posted here. Judge John Newton did a great job and has produced a slide show of all images with his comments on each. Ask Roy Killen if you would like to borrow a copy of the CD of this show.
COMPETITION SUCCESS FOR SANJA O'DONOHUECongratulations Sanja for winning the Warners Bay section of the Centro "Smiles" competition.
SUCCESS IN INTERSTATE COMPETITIONNSW was again the winner of the Australian Interstate Photographic Competition that was held in conjunction with the APS Conference (APSCON) in Tasmania. The NSW entries for this competition (10 each in Colour, Monochrome, Slides and Digital) were selected by the Federation of Camera Clubs (NSW). Belmont 16ft Photographic Club was represented by Alex Hunter (one colour print and one digital image), Chris Prior (one slide and one digital image), Doreen McGregor (one slide) and Roy Killen (one colour print and one digital mage). Special congratulations to Alex and Chris who each gained a Merit (14 points out of a possible 15) for their digital images.
FREE ON-LINE TUTORIALSA wide range of tutorials for various aspects of computing and various computer programs (including Photoshop) are available to residents of Lake Macquarie. Go the the Lake Macquarie library web site and click on the link to "The Computer School" (right hand side of the page) and follow the instructions. You will need a Lake Macquarie Library membership number to log in.

CLUB MEMBERS' IMAGES TO REPRESENT NSWCongratulations to the following club memebrs who have had images selected by the FCC to represent NSW in the Australian Interstate Photographic Competition that is being held in conjunction with APSCON:
There were four categories (slides, digital images, mono prints, colour prints) and 10 images were selected in each category.
SUCCESS IN WESTERN DISTRICTS PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITIONAlex Hunter gained first place in the Open EDI section of the recent Western Districts Photographic Competition at Dubbo. Congratulations Alex.

NPF ROUND 2Belmont did it again! We scooped the pool - gaining the highest points in each section: monochrome, colour, altered reality, mini-prints and slides. Full details are available on the NPF point score page.

WE NEED YOUR PROFILEThe PROFILES section of this web site is set up to help members get to know one another. The club membership continues to grow each month so it is handy to be able to put a face to a name and have some idea of the photographic interests of other club members. All you need to do is check the Profiles section for some examples and then email Roy Killen your details. Please note: To protect the privacy of members, the email addresses on the Profiles pages are set up as your "club email address" in the form membername@belmont16footers-photoclub.com.au and any mail sent from this web site (or by anyone else using your club address) is automatically forwarded to your nominated email address. This is set up for you; you don't have to do any setting up or make any modifications to your existing email system. Your club email will automatically have an antispam filter and an antivirus filter applied to it.
IMAGES FOR DISPLAY IN MAIN CLUBThe Belmont 16 ft Sailing Club Board recently agreed that we could display images on some of the TV screens throughout the club. The display will consist of a "slide show" of 25 images, with new images being used every three months. The Committee asked two of its members to select the first group of 25 images from the colour and monochrome images that were submitted for Round 1 of the Digital Portfolio competition. The following Club members have images in that selection: Gwyneth Davies, Alex Hunter, Barbara Hunter, Jill Helps, Anne Killen, Roy Killen, Diane Schofield and Chris Prior. We hope to see the display in the Skiffy club in the very near future. If you would like some of your images considered for selection for the next group of 25 please prepare them in the same format as that required for Round 2 of the Digital Portfolio and submit them to Roy Killen who will pass them on to the selectors.
NEWCASTLE LIBRARY EXHIBITIONSIf you would like to receive invitations to launches of art/photography exhibitions and other events at the Newcastle Regional Library all you need to do is email your details to library@ncc.nsw.gov.au and indicate whether you would like to be invited to "All Events" or just "Exhibition Launches". From 6th June till 26th July the Wildlife Photographer of the Year (2007) exhibition is on display in the Lovett Gallery on the second floor of the library.
MOUNT BOARDSLarge mount boards (40 x 50 cm) are now available for purchase through the club at $2 per board. Please contact Alex Hunter.
NPF ROUND 1 Belmont club scooped the pool at the first round of NPF (Northern Photographic Federation Inter-club Competition). Alex Hunter’s Smoking Watch Peddlar was judged top Monochrome print of the competition. Congratulations Alex!
