IMAGE OF THE YEAR - 2012
Entries for the Image of the Year have to be submitted no later than the club meeting night on 19th October.
All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form – see attachment.
If possible, please complete the entry form in Microsoft Word and either email it to Roy Killen (roykillen@me.com) or put a copy of it on the CD/USB on which you submit your EDI entries (this makes it much easier to prepare the score sheets for the judges).
The IMAGE OF THE YEAR competition is divided into the following sections:
Colour prints.
Monochrome prints.
Nature prints.
Small prints.
Open EDI
Nature EDI
Altered reality EDI.
There is an A grade and B grade division in each section.
In each of the sections members may enter a maximum of FOUR images.
With the exception of Altered Reality EDI and Nature EDI, all images must have been previously entered in a club monthly competition in 2011 - in the SAME category in which they are entered in the Image of the Year. Each entry must be the ACTUAL ENTRY exhibited previously, not a slightly different one.
The Altered Reality EDI and Nature EDI images do NOT have to have been entered in a club competition in 2011 because there are no separate categories for these images in normal monthly competitions. However, a nature EDI or altered reality EDI that was entered in the open EDI section during the year can be entered.
Substantially the same image cannot be entered twice in the same section or in two different sections (even if two different versions of the image were entered in monthly competitions in 2011).
This is the ONLY time that an entry that has gained an Honours award in a club monthly competition can be used for a second time in a club competition. Entries that did not gain Honours in monthly competitions are also eligible for entry in the Image of the Year competition.
Any image that has gained a Top 3 place in an Image of the Year competition (or in a PASOTY competition—the previous name for the Image of the Year competition) in any year cannot be entered again in the same category in any Image of the Year competition.
Any image that has gained a Top 3 place in an Image of the Year competition or a PASOTY competition in any year cannot be entered again in a different category in an Image of the Year competition unless it has been substantially changed in the manner described in the competition rules.
All EDI entries must be submitted on CD or USB drive - no later than 19 October. They should be given to Roy Killen. Please note that EDIs that were submitted via Coppermine during the year must be resubmitted in this way if you want to use them in the Image of the Year competition. The reason is that the EDI section of the Image of the Year is NOT judged online.
All EDI entries must comply with normal size restrictions for monthly EDI competitions- no more than 1024 pixels wide and no more than 768 pixels high when viewed in the correct orientation. The files should be JPEG and the maximum file size is 300KB.
If you have any questions about these rules please contact Chris Prior.
