DIGITAL PROJECTED IMAGES

For 2010 this section will include EDI (Electronic Digital Images) and slides that have been scanned.

Image requirements:

  • The maximum image size is 1024 pixels wide (horizontal) and 768 pixels high (vertical) when the image is viewed in its correct orientation. This means that a “landscape” image can be no more than 1024 pixels wide and a “portrait” image can be no more than 768 pixels high.

  • The file format must be JPEG.

  • The maximum file size is 700 KB.

  • Images should be in the sRGB colour space.

  • A maximum of TWO images may be submitted for consideration in Round 1 and Round 2 (open section only). In Round 3 you may submit four images in the OPEN section and four images in the NATURE section.

For detailed instructions on preparing images of the correct size, etc., refer to this tutorial.

Naming your images

The OPEN image files should be named as follows:

B-sura01.jpg

B-sura02.jpg

The NATURE images in Round 3 should be named as follows:

BN-sura01.jpg

BN-sura02.jpg

where "sura" is replaced with the first three letters of your surname and your initial (e.g. smij for Jane Smith).

On your entry form, you should give each image a title in addition to the above file name. For example, the image "B-smij01" might be called "B-smij01 African sunset".

Submitting your images

Images should be submitted on a CD or flash drive to Andrew Styan.

All your digital entries should be listed on your entry form along with your print entries. The NPF entry form is available here or you can collect one from Barbara Hunter.
